Cathy has spent her career practicing in the greater Kansas City area with over 15 years of experience working in public and private school settings, as well as private practice. She has provided comprehensive therapy services to school-aged children and has extensive experience supporting individuals with autism spectrum disorder, hearing loss, fluency disorders, childhood apraxia of speech, and phonological processing disorders.
She earned her graduate degree from the University of Kansas, where she also worked on the LAARC Research Project-a five-year, multidisciplinary study focused on understanding the development of language and reading comprehension, providing comprehensive evaluations to school aged children in the areas of articulation and language. Through this work, she collaborated closely with professionals across disciplines and contributed to research-based assessment and intervention practices. During graduate school, she also became certified in early childhood special education, which led to work providing early intervention services in both Missouri and Kansas.
Throughout her career, Cathy has worked with diverse populations and has received additional specialized training in evidence-based language therapy approaches. She believes that meaningful progress is best achieved through strong collaboration with clients, families, and educational teams. Her approach is grounded in research, guided by a personal compassion for each individual with a focus on helping each person reach their full communication potential.
